How to beat the broker!

Firstly you might wonder what a broker is?

Well a training broker is a company that acts as a 'middle man' between the customer 'you' and the training provider in your area 'us'.

This might not sound to bad until you realise what it really means.

So for example:

-The broker would sell you 1x Apple for £1.50 (Third party purchase)

Broker receives £1.25, we receive £0.25.

-However we would sell you 4 x Apple for £0.50 (Direct purchase)

We receive £0.50.

SO! As you can see they will sell less of the item for over the odds in price and also take a large chunk of that solely for profit.

Some of you may be unfortunate enough to have already learnt this harsh lesson in receiving less training for a higher cost.

How to spot a broker?

So in order to prevent this from happening please see below some of our tips in spotting a broke and not getting sucked into their extraordinary sales techniques.

TIPS:

ALWAYS ASK TO VISIT THE TRAINING LOCATION

Always ensure that the company are happy for you to visit their premises!

Local firms will have no issues with you popping down to their offices or training locations. Don't get fobbed off! Some brokers will say you cannot visit site for insurance purposes.

SEE THE VEHICLES

Most local firms will have no issues with you popping to see their training vehicles but most importantly most training schools local to yourself will be out on the road anyway!

The broker will most likely not own a single vehicle therefore will have nothing to show you!

MEET THE PEOPLE!

Local firms will have an onsite office with staff that co-ordinate training and deal with course bookings so there should always be someone that you can talk with face to face. At our training school our instructors use the same office as our bookings team so you might even get to meet one of them!

NEVER PAY LARGE AMOUNTS OVER THE PHONE

If you plan on booking your course over the phone most schools will firstly only require a deposit to book initially. Unless you have been down to the location to ensure that everything is legitimate then don't pay large sums of money over the phone!

PREVIOUS STUDENTS?

Many local firms will have some form of social media which in our case is Facebook and Instagram there you can see our students that pass on a weekly basis and also you can see that the students themselves will comment and share the posts! Why not get in touch with them to ensure things are all as they might seem.

SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Small local firms won't always have the best sales pitch but they will have fantastic knowledge! Don't get sucked in by something sounding fantastic and be sure to know exactly what it is that you're getting.

I hope this has helped! & Good luck with your training!
